As part of our in-salon training program, we are regularly looking for guests for our Opportunity Shift Appointments.  As an Opportunity Shift Appointment guest for our talented Associate Stylist, you can get a taste of our award-winning expertise at a fraction of the standard salon pricing.

Opportunity shift appointments are performed by a salon Associate Stylist.

What is salon associate stylist?

An Associate Stylist” is an entry-level position for a qualified professional licensed stylist who could work anywhere but who has chosen to join our training program to grow and enhance their skills under the supervision of our highly skilled and friendly Pura Vida Training Team.  Their many responisbilities include supporting a mentor-level stylist, taking their own guest during their “opportunity shifts”, receiving real-world in-salon training, online & hands-on training sessions, business skills trainng, general salon upkeep, and general salon team support.

As an Associate works through their program they will advance from an Associate position to a Senior Associate.

What is an opportunity shift?

An Opportunity Shift is design to give an Associate Stylist the opportunity to put into action their skills and knowledge on their own. These shifts allow the associate to service their family, friends, referrals, and any other guests who are interested in working with an Associate Stylist. While the shifts are developed for the Assoicate to perform services with the direct guidance of their assigned mentor, they still will have collaborative support from a mentor stylist if needed.

Associate Stylist pricing

• For your first visit, you will schedule a New Guest Appointment. These appointments have an extended consultation and conditioning treatment included.
• The services price range is from 25% – 50% less than our Level 1 Stylist (Jr. Stylist) pricing. This list below is a condensed list of services of Established guest pricing at the 50% rate.
• We have Assoicate & Senior Assocate prices.  As demand on an Assoicate’s schedule increases and they move closer to a Level 1 Jr. Stylist postion, the prices they charge will adjust.

cancellation policy

We kindly require 24 hours for cancellations. We do require a credit card on file and acknowledgment of our cancellation policy to schedule an appointment. Link: POLICIES

associate appointment-specific policies

• Since appointments with Associate stylists are offered at a significant discount of our standard pricing any redo and adjustment requests are not complementary. If a request is made, the salon will provide and estimate of cost based on the nature of the request and expected salon costs.  Any service adjustments made will be performed by the same Associate Stylist.
• Guest receiving services from an Associate Stylist are required to sign an Opportunity Guest Waiver. This includes but is not limited to things like permission to post photos and possibly videos to social media for marketing purposes, acknowledgment associate appointments are training sesions, and services are performed by a Associate Stylist in a training program

how to schedule an New Guest Opportunity appointment

• Second, we will send you available appointment times. Once we find a time that works, we will put a temporary hold on the appointment time.
• Third, create a profile in our scheduling software by using the link CREATE PROFILE, if you have not already create a profile in our scheduling software.
• Fourth, once your profile is complete we will schedule the appointment.
• After scheduling you will receive a confirmation email / text and links to complete

  • Intake form
  • Pre-Appointment Questionnaire – For the best experience please complete the questionnaire and other forms ASAP.
• Once the form are completed, we will review the information so
  • We can ensure you are scheduled for the most appropriate appointment type.
  • The Associate Stylist and their Mentor will review and strategize together a professional recommendation and plan of action based on your hair goals.
• Finally, in your confirmation email you will see the estimated price for the service.
